    Ranger Trailer Light Issue

All lights working on the trailer are just fine other than the driver side tail light stays illuminated as if the brakes are on and no turn signal. Any thoughts? Everything checks out just fine but I’m beginning to think it’s on the truck side.

    Thanks in advance,
    Josh

My guess would be truck side too. Factory trailer wiring on the truck?

You might crawl under the truck and follow the trailer wiring. Check all the connectors to see that they are tight.

Hmm, I had issues like that on my Nissan, but I had an aftermarket U-haul setup, took it to U-Haul they sad it tested fine, took it to Nissan they said the amperage/wiring was not correct, after changing to factory wiring setup those issues went away.

Check the brown wire with the vehicle lights off (including daytime running lights) if it has 12 volts, Houston you have a problem. If you have a round connector on your truck, there is a 12 volt hot wire all the time but it should not be connected on a boat trailer. That would be the red wire.

Turn on your parking lights and check and see if you have voltage on the Left Turn / Stop pin of your truck receptacle. If you have 12 V on it with just your parking lights on, then the truck has a problem. Did this problem just start, or has it been on going? Are the lights bulb or LED? It is possible to install a bulb backwards where the bright filament touches the running light connection in the socket.
