Friends motor, idles fine but slow to get to plane. No owner/mechanical changes since fall use. I recommended spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel line and bulb. Run on remote tank with fresh gas.

what year is this motor?
anyone know the correct plugs and fuel filter or part number?

thought he should do this first as part of general maint. All thoughts welcome. Thank you.

No primer bulb should be used on this engine model.

Proper maintenance is CRITICAL to life of engine (and definitely does make a difference in running enjoyment).

Engine oil & filter, Gear lube, Water pump, Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter(s), are all maintenance items. Those (and a check of the BASICS) would be wise.

Spark plugs: LFR4A-E (Mercury# 898829001)
Fuel Filters: 879885Q (Two)
MAY have an additional filter in the boat.
