What would YOU do?ouple spots I was going to fish

There was a Tourney on Chickamauga this weekend and evidentially you could hole sit until it started (6:15 am) no blast off ramp ,just put in wherever ! I didn’t fish it,don’t really do tourneys anymore,but pulled in to see boats sitting in a couple places me and my grandson was going to fish. Would you fish them or move on(which we did)?. It was probably 5:45 when we got to these spots !

I try not to get around folks when on the water. In fact I get pissed when people crowd me. I pretty much have had to cuss a SOB out almost every trip out


So yes I would have given them their space.

I definitely would have kept going. I do not like to be approached on the water...and I try to treat others how I expect to be treated.

How do you know they were camping out and not fishing?

Buddy of mine fished it and said there were some guys hole sitting 4hrs before the tournament started!!

I guess what I'm wondering is: how do you tell them apart from someone fishing? Were they just sitting in the drivers seat of the boat?

From your post...I just imagine them sitting on their seat on the trolling motor. When I drive by a boat on a spot I have a hard time seeing exactly what they are doing...they could be sitting there...they could be fishing...they could be reading a book for all I know...I usually don't get close enough to see what they are doing in detail.

well you had to go right by them in the creek they were in a couple cuts and also where we put in there is a big flat and atleast 6 boats were sitting on the ledge and you could see no one was casting ! We didn’t encroach on any one of them! We went somewhere else wondering others take on holesitting!!!!

Go on by even though they were going to be sitting there not fishing for another 30 minutes. It's only ok to pull in and play the "public water" card when it's someone who fishes for a living.

Right! We just went on our way, but yeah you had to idle right by a bunch just to get to the river channel so you could tell they were holesitting for that BIG BASS Tourney!i Had no problem with it just wondering since the FLW fued and how this scenario plays out! Hahhha

Would have kept on going, fishing is supposed to be fun especially with a kid. No fun getting in a passing match over a spot even if you had the "right" to fish there.

That said I would have been marking any spot I did not know for later.....

I've signed up for big bass on Grand. I assumed you'd need to be on a spot an hour early, I guess that's not early enough!
