    225 Pro XS opinions

My friend has a 2009 225 Pro XS on his Ranger

he is buying a 250 four stroke

motor has 315 hours on it

compression is good on all cylinders

has 1year old torgue master lover on it, new alternator

im going to spend close to $5000 on rebuilding my 1997 efi with rebuild and freight

i can buy his motor for $7500

are the Pro XS a good motor and what do you think of price vs hours?

I have a '09 225 Pro XS on a Legend Alpha 199. I have no problem with my motor and not looking for a new one. $5,000 for a new (rebuilt) EFI or $7500 for a 315 hour Pro XS. Tough call. EFI is a lot simpler with less to go wrong and will have 0 hours. As I said I am happy with my Pro XS, however I think I would rebuild the EFI. According to NADA $7500 is under book price. As I said tough call.

    Thanks

i am up against the wall for time to get it rebuilt and reinstalled for June tournament

think i I am going with Pro XS

if he sold it to someone one else he would ask $8500 for it

I would get the ProXS, providing it passed all the inspections.

My 2005 225 Pro XS has a tad over 700 hours on it. I replaced the original compressor at 690 hours. I have heard of some that did not run as long as mine has. Don't know what the average life is hours wise for a 225 Pro XS but mine has what I would consider a lot and runs great still.
