Ok who is going to be there. I will be there late Thursday till Monday afternoon. I was there last weekend and caught alot of fish but mainly 12-14 inches. The biggest my brother caught was 4 lb 10 oz.

Saw a man driving a pontoon down the bank with the outboard sat with his kid casting off front. In back of a pocket so narrow you couldnt be passed, he catches a 6 or 7 lber. So much for being quiet

That's where they were at. Most all fish we're as far in the back of coves that the boat would float. I definitely got a few battle scars over the weekend.

We are going down Friday night and staying through Monday. Spent last weekend down there working on stuff. Went for little ride Sunday before heading home. Looking forward to fishing Saturday morning.

Just hope I can actually catch some fish. Rode down towards dam last weekend and looked around. Some places looked very promising.

I was just there last week. Did well on small main lake coves around Lizard Creek. Had a 18" and a bunch of 17" fish. Mostly spots with a couple LM mixed in.

I have a crazy question.... Why can I not find fish in Hawtree creek??? I caught one fish this year back there. It looks so good and there have got to be 10 million stumps in there. I have talked to others and they say the same thing. It looks good but no fish.

I could not get any fish in the back of coves. I would get half way back and the action would just stop.

WOW!!! I got to where I would idle to the 150' or so and fish that for 10 minutes and then I would find another one. Most all fish were caught on a buzzbait or a spinnerbait.

there are fish caught there , especially at the bridge. However I don't think the ph in the tanic water is as attractive to bass as the rest of the lake., that's so close by. Other tanic waters (chowan) bass have no choice but to adapt.

Stay out of pretty, no fish, dangerous to run, and a mean man stays on one of the first few docks on the left. Lol

We keep our trailer at Americamps. Think it is the only place for nightly camping at Gaston. Think it is like $50/night. We like it.
