    250 xs motor swap oil pump question

    # ie000846 i just put this running 250 xs motor on my boat and swapped remote oil tank can i just start the motor and crack the cap on tank on block or do i have to prime the pump also. thanks guys

    No, that puts you in break in mode.

    i believe its in break o. mode now it has 9 hrs since rebuild

    Let's hope not... if being properly broken in, there's no reason for it to cross 3 hours (at a maximum) and still be in break-in mode.

    what do you mean i just bought the motor and was told it had 9 hrs on it mark nicoletti did the rebuild im waiting on a hub kit so this motor has 9 hrs on it and i have not ran it yet should i bleed the entire system or just from the remote tank beings ite tank on the block is almost full only a little oil leaked out of block tank.

    If the break-in mode is being performed properly, the break-in clock will expire well before 9 hrs. If what you say is true, motor is still in break-in mode after 9hrs, then the break-in procedure is not being performed properly.

    No, break-in mode is a clock, which can expire in around 2-4hrs.
