    2006 ranger 188 vs

    My 188 seems sluggish with full live well , gas tank and equipment.looling for best set up..jack plate/prop..only getting 53 to 54 mph

    Honestly, if you don’t have a 23 tempest id be getting one, if you have a merc. Maybe try some trim extensions. You probably won’t see past 57 with a full load on that boat, even with a tempest and plate. Maybe lighten some gear if you can. For what you have, 54 isn’t too out of the norm

    If your prop has some dings it might just need some work done.

    When was the last time you replaced the spark plugs and were they gapped properly?

    Have you ever serviced the fuel rails and injectors?

    Have the fuel lines ever been replaced?
