Question 2000 Skeeter ZX202 Trolling Motor install

Just put a new Fortrex 112 on this weekend. My original plan was to removed the stupid quick release mount that the old Maxxum 80 was mounted on, but how in the hell do you get back to the nuts on this unit? It is so skinny up front there I couldn't even get a extended wrench back there. How did they even install the thing originally, remove the top cap?

You can use a wrench and hold it with your index and middle finger and get it done. I went in through the faceplate area where the pedal controls come through the deck front. If you're having trouble taking the old ones out I cut mine off with a hacksaw. Fell right out after that. Then i used the wrench to tighten the new ones on.

You can do it: I just pulled a Fortrex off and installed an ultrex. It’s tight and the use of some schotch tape to hold the nut and washer on the wrench makes it just a little bit easier:)
