UPDATE on my Ranger with pics... My welder did a great job on the crack. He fabricated an angled piece of marine grade aluminum to bridge the gap of the crack and welded it on to reinforce the area. This was pre-approved by Ranger. Once he got it in the shop - it took him half a day to complete with all the prep, fabricating, welding and final primer. Really good job - very impressed with the final product.... Just need to get some factory paint from Ranger and it'll be literally better than new!

Weld looks great. Red is a very hard color to match. Even if you get factory paint, the new paint will be off a little bit from the aged original paint. You might look into kind of an accent color or something. Since the primed area is pretty well even, it might look okay.

From what I see it will be a very easy paint match. it is a solid red and should just lay in and look great. Very easy fix

They did a nice job on the repair, if your not happy with the color match of the red paint you could put some bow mounted led navigation lights in that area

He buzzed a bead of weld on the bottom and side cracks.. I'm hoping the reinforcement tab will prevent any further cracking on top and on bottom.

I had a similar issue with an RT178. I was however under warranty, and Ranger paid the repair bill that exceeded yours. As they should have. Point I want to make is, I also had substantial trailer issues and was out of warranty. Ranger did however rebuild and virtually replaced the trailer even out of warranty. While I am not happy with the Ranger alum boat line, I cannot say anything bad about the service. They will stand behind their products.
