    Prop for 2016 175txw

My son is purchasing a 2016 Tracker 175txw with a 75hp 4 stroke. The current owner has the motor set on the 4th hole from the top and the prop is a powertech ptr 21p. It has 3 batteries in the back. Needless to say I believe it is over propped and the motor set too high. What would be the proper engine height and SS prop for this setup?

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure this has probably been discussed here before but what range of speed could be expected with the x7?

Thanks. It seems that the x7 is a very popular choice. Any suggestions on a 3 blade and the pros and cons on them vs the x7?

Wide open throttle rpm and speed on gps will go a long way to getting you good usable info.

I had a PTR 20" on my 18' Lowe Stinger and it would only turn 5200 on a 115. The X7, as stated earlier, is the way to go.

Just sent it to the dealer yesterday and they recommended a powertech Eld in a 17p. They said they have been installing these on all the 175txw's if someone requests a SS prop and have had zero complaints. I guess we will try it and see. If it doesn't work out they said they can swap it out for something else. Anyone running an Eld on a 175txw?

I prefer the prd or the nrd over the eld. Eld is a good prop. But the other two have more rake and more aggressive cupping.

These are power tech 3 blade ss props. With different blade designs. The dealer must have a account with power tech. So if there will to put a different style on besides the eld. For no additional cost. The other two are a better option for these rigs than the one they normally use. But this is my opinion. Still the number one overall is an X7.

Eld was not the answer. Didnt run bad but certainly not great. Spoke with powertech today and they suggested nrs. Has anyone run a nrs or turbo on a 175txw
