    Hummingbird GPS Question

Do either the Helix or Solix units include an internal compass so that you can know what direction you are facing even if not moving (something like the Point-1 system for Lowrance) or do you need to buy an external puck antenna regardless of which unit you buy. I tried to find the answer on Humminbird's website, but found it to be not very user friendly.

I am a long time Lowrance guy looking at a boat with Humminbird units.

Thanks in advance for your help.

if you have a solix, you can use any nmea heading sensor or you can get the humminbird gps/heading sensor. if you have a helix you need the humminbird gps/heading sensor

You have to buy an external antenna with a heading sensor. None of the HB units have it built-in. Now you can get heading on all of the HB units with the internal antenna when you're moving but I don't think that's what you're wanting. If you're looking at 360 the AS GPS HS (heading sensor puck) is included.
