    2014 RT188 115 Optimax 2S prop

I just bought a RT188 and I’m looking to install a spitfire xp7. It has a black max 23p on it now and wondering do I need to drop to a 19p or 21p. I’m unsure of the RPM’s.

I have a 19 pitch x7 on mine and it works out great, never bothered with a 3 blade since this performs so well

What kind of RPMs do you turn? How heavy of a load? Speed? 2 stroke?

I've got both. The Laser is 2 mph faster, BUT, the X7 is the superior prop.

Have a x18/115 pro xs. Had originally came with 23p alum . Switched to a x7 spitfire 19p last summer. Was more than pleased with performance.

My 16 model 115 pro xs optimax with factory setback plate came with laser2 20p running about 46-48 gps. I recently bought a laser2 22p ran 47-49.7 gps turning 5900 rpm off boat tach. Any tips on a different prop I'd like to see low to mid 50s is that even possible?

Jacos Marine used to have the best price for the X7.

I have the same setup and have the same performance. My original hull was a 2014 without the trim tabs and would run about 2 mph faster. From day One I wanted to run 50 mph and bought a Laser 22 inch but could only pull it about 5400 rpm with my 2 stroke ProXS. 49.6 was the best I have seen and that was with the 20 inch Laser at 4700 rpm and the motor in the third hole.
In 2015, Ranger replaced my hull which came with the trim tabs and I added the set back plate. I am still running the 20 inch Laser and 46-48 is my new best.
The short answer is I don't think you can get mid 50’s with a 115 HP and I don’t think the boat would be stable at that speed.

Correct, don't even spend the time or money. A JP will give you 1-2mph. I have mine mounted in the third hole and the X7 19" runs great. Haven't been able to test the 20" Laser with all the rain, but will post results. You wanta go fast, XPRESS.

Wasn't sure if dropping 400 on a spitfire 19p would change anything. I'm fixing to start measuring and play with mounting holes cause I've not moved it from factory height but it does have the 4in set back

I was thinking hard about that spitfire at one time, decided against it.
I've actually seen 51 in mine for just a second once. I've ran 50 a few times , when boat was new and not fully loaded. I average 47-48 now. (maybe 49 by myself.)
