What Gas to Oil Ratio for a 2000 Johnson 2.0 Motor J2RTSSR

This is a new/used motor for me and I have no reference paperwork with it. I am looking to see that the gas to oil ratio is and what lower unit oil do I use in this motor. It is a 2000 yr, Model number J2RTSSR

Thanks for your help in advance.

50to 1 fuel to oil ratio, use hpf pro gear oil in the gearcase.

Just don't take BM's answer too literally. You do not use HPF Pro gear oil mixed 50:1 in the motor

Since you said not to use HPF Pro gear oil then what do I need to put in the lower unit????? I know that HPF Pro gear oil mixed 50:1 does not go in the gas but is this the correct oil to put in the lower unit?

Seahorse said not to use that gearlube (HPF Pro) as an engine oil. That is the best oil to use in the gearcase and P/N 778754 gets you enough oil to do a few changes plus a nice pump to make it a clean job. Fit new drain screw washers too.

That was Seahorse bustin' my chops...AGAIN! Yes sir 50.1 on fuel and oil mix, HPF pro is the best for your gearcase.

    firefighter615,

Unlike on other boating forums where members flame their posters then call them idiots and all sorts of names, here at BBC were tear into each other with a smile on our faces and love in our hearts to make jolly fun of many things that someone may write.

I think we are the only site that loans out duncecaps to certain members.

We aim to inform, to answer questions accurately, and have fun doing it. Our antics may mimic how we used to behave and act on a grade-school playground - minus the bullying. We do not condone bullying or bad conduct here, unless it is directed towards Bassmeister.
