    TM prop

Posted here because I posted in TM forum and have received nothing in responses. My ultrex came with the weedless prop. I have looked in minn Kota site and see nothing but weedless. Am i stupid in thinking there are props for TM’s that are for open water to get you moving quicker. From my research a 3 blade does but it also takes more power to turn prop burning battery and TM motor quicker. Is this correct? Am I being stupid about an “open water” prop. Only when I fish Texas (home sweet home)do I really have to deal with grass of any kind.

Since I found them several years ago, all I use now are Kipawa props. Yes they are 3 blade and never have an issue with them. I don't have to run my TM as high on windy days and my batteries don't drain like they do with the original props. I have a 921 Pro and I can hold wind that is 15 and stay on 5 or 6 all day with TM Check em out , they are GREAT props

Well dang. And aftermarket props kill the warranty.

Have you considered a "weed cutter" for the TM? www.ninjagrassblade.com

Yes I have. Aftermarket kills my warranty. From my research I am gaining maybe 20% thrust. I am thinking 20% ain’t enough bang do the loss of warranty of something happens.

I have never personally heard of MK denying a claim due to a different prop and there are a lot of people running the Kipawa, but by all means do whatever makes you feel safe. Since most of the warranty work is through service centers, I would think its unlikely that they would even bring this to MK's attention. As a practical matter I seriously doubt that any warranty issue would be the result of the different prop. Of course if you are outside of the 2 year warranty window it really becomes a non issue. 20% increase and improve battery life is significant - I've seen guys scrap their outboard warranty for much less than that!

Which TM do you have that prop on?
I have a 921xp with Ultrex, which makes it so the boat cover barely fits. Wondering if the prop would make cover even a tighter fit

Had a authorized warranty center recommend the Kipawa. He also as long as your in warranty put the original prop back on before you bring it in.
