wheeler has always been like that even before turning pro,i ask him something about 8 years ago at the indy boat show and he went into detail about a lure he was using and why,and then told the vender and exact color, my son looked at me said, dad that guy is honest as the day is long,i about died laughing at my son

What shocks me about watching live is seeing these guys make such short casts with a top water bait.

I do. Just think it is an oversight in a $2500 trolling motor. I usually just lay something over it until the sun comes up.

Win or lose, I don’t see anyone on tour trying harder to educate the public about fishing, while fishing, than Wheeler. He explained what line, rod, and reel he was using on his spoon, then corrected himself a minute later to say that his rod was 7’11” not 7’6”. Who does that?

I followed Wheeler around all day yesterday and it was like having a personal fishing lesson. He couldn’t be nicer and he talked to us the whole time and explained everything he was doing and why it was working. He is a class act and a fishing machine. I’ve never seen someone fish so fast and cover water so quickly. Hope he gets the win tomorrow.

For those not watching- Cliff Pace just landed an 8.1 on a jerkbait, live. Shot him up to almost second place. Top 5 guys slugging it out with a hurricane looming.

This tournament turned out to be awesome. BASS doing a great job with the coverage as well
