Wonder what the sticker shock on a 300R with a sports master is ??
6400 RPM's with 1.75s at 512 pounds dry weight.. I could live with that

I think it's going to be very hard for them to get within 5k of 18,xxx for the 3.2 Pro xs.
Jaco’s quoted me $18,500 for a 300R today.
WOW! $3 grand more from 250 to 300! Usually only $1,500 max difference.
Here is a price list.

I want but can’t justify at this point. I think mercury hit a home run

I have a few questions and one comment about the new Merc's. Question #1. Where did they lose the weight? 4 strokes typically have more mass and therefore more weight. More aluminum? Less steel? Question #2. The lower on the 300R is a lot heavier. Still, should a guy want to, could he bolt a 250 Sporty on one from a 250R? Few other minor questions but I don't like even the thought of having less motor mass at the expense of lower life expectancy. I'm sure that Merc tested the snot out of them but the difference in a few motors being tested and thousands being given real life tests may be different. I'm cautiously optimistic though. I'll end up with one after I'm sure they are the real deal and when they get a 1.61 out there on their lowers.
I believe the SHO weighs about the same and it is a 4 stroke.
Advertised SHO weight was 505. What I see the Merc is 512.
The SHO is not rebuildable either at that weight due to the aluminum block right?
The SHO block cannot be rebuilt because it is ceramic or something like that. That was Yamahas way of getting the weight down.
Was told by Jaco's that 300r is 21,500. About 4k more than what I paid for my 300 opti couple years ago. Definitely more expensive.
