    Dual Axiom 9 Help?

Got a new to me 1997 Ranger R82. Need to update fishfinders (only has an old grey scale one at the helm).

I am wanting to go with dual Axiom 9's with 3D, one at the helm and one at the trolling motor, both networked together...

    So...

Which version of the Axiom 9s do I buy (two with the RV100 transducer)?
What do I need to network them? Cables? connectors?
Shielded cables for use near the trolling motor?
What transducer for the trolling motor?
    Mounts for the 2 displays?

I am ready to order...just want to order all the right stuff at one time.

Thanks in advance for the help.

One unit with the RV at the console. E70367-03-NAG 1649.99

Bow unit with CPT100DVS dont need a map as they will share it. E70367-02 1199.99

Raynet cable A80005 is 15' A62362 is 30' just have to see how far it needs to go. 100.00 for the 30' one off amazon

Shield and saver for mounting on the trolling motor.
    https://www.transducershieldandsaver...lds/raymarine/ 129.95

Depending on what you need for the transom they can help you with that or Raymarine has the brackets also.

As for mounts its just what you want and how you want to mount them.

3080.00 for everything not including unit mounts and RV100 mount.

Intending to run dual Axiom 9s (one at bow and one at helm),

If I got,two of,these units -- E70367-03-NAG 1649.99 -- would I be able to run sidevision from the trolling motor with the helm unit turned off? Or would I suffer interference mounting an RV100 on the trolling motor?

Why would I want just downvision on the bow unit?

Not challenging anything. Just looking for an education before I purchase tomorrow.

Side and 3D are more of a “linear” beam - think Left/right off the transom. Constant moving of the trolling motor head always changes this “180” line. It can be done, but can be an orientation PIA.

RV-100 comes with a transom mount bracket.

Yea you can do that or just watch the side off the transom, either way it’s going to be behind you by the time it shows up on the screen.
As jig said moving the trolling motor screws the image, so if you just pull it off the transom the picture will be clearer, just mark it and go back and fish it.

It’s more expensive but not by much, you can try it and then have the choice between the two transducer.

This shot shows what happens when you start to turn the transducer, either buy the hull, as I started making a turn, or but moving the trolling motor.

Oh and thats 8 fish on the left side with a few having shadows!!

Your explanation and pic helped. I get it now. So, why have a dv transducer at all on trolling motor in a dual console/bow setup?

Down vision is move scanning down and doesn’t have the same effect moving the trolling motor. Think of side as a wide brush painting out to the side verse down shooting under the boat like sonar but more defined.

I personally don’t use down much on the bow, I have scanned and know where to fish and where cast to. I mostly use the bow except for maps, but do use sonar to see what’s under the boat.

Trolling motor sonar is great for drop shoting under the boat but that’s it. Guy kill me with all their sonar under the trolling motor when the cast to the bank or in front of the boat!!

if i see fish under the boat I back track and fish further out at what I passed over.

mostly side and down I use when searching for fish of shore, I mark it and then fish my marks.
