The tank testing does not include running the motor. The tank test is to check for leaks in the plumbing and that things are functioning. Many people have sponsorship deals for motors so the boats are rigged for the motor at the factory and the motor is installed at a dealer.

Yep, ones with an engine just get a key bump to make sure it turns over. A few get lake tested but I'm not sure what the protocol is on that. I live about 45 minutes from the factory on the highway they use to head North, I see a lot with no engines especially since the Yamaha shortage. There was one in the finish room Friday, a L series, with Yamaha smart gauges and it's build sheet listed no motor and indicated it would be dealer accessory.

Buddy just ordered his and is expected to be delivered in the first week of June with no motor or electronics so it can be done.

Dealer is installing the motor. My buddy is installing all of the electronics.

Ranger can’t get enough Yamaha SHO motors. Therefore buyers are ordering boats without the Yammi and their dealers are finding them for them.

The only way to know that is to price one through a dealer. Boats vary considerably on cost depending on the model and accessories.
