    Squeaky lids

My Phoenix is experiencing squeaky lids. I believe the answer is to put weather stripping around them. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of this. Other suggestions are welcome too

    Thx

Weather stripping, and someone said to clean all the 'separation from the mold' wax off the fiberglass and it stopped squeaking on his boat.

Mine were squeaky as well. I installed weather stripping that was as close to what my Ranger has as I could find. They’re better now, but still squeak a little. Does anybody know why Phoenix boats don’t come with weather stripping from the factory (or some other fix). Squeaky lids seem to be a common problem.

its usually just the carpet rubbing the wax, many say they have simply cleaned the raised lip area with alcohol and that solved the problem

We shouldn’t have to apply this fix post-purchase....these boats are expensive. Other brands come with weather stripping. Phoenix should do the same. If the fix is to remove the wax, then Phoenix should do that, or the dealer should.

I've tried cleaning the wax off and mine still do it. I've got to where I just wipe my carpet edge down with some reel snot periodically and it will stop for a while. Other products will probably work just as well.

i love my boat and the ride.........however its the little things like this that really piss me off about phenoix. i know someone will come along and be offensive but look, you pay high dollar for these boats and the carpet is so thin you can read a news paper through it, trailer is more like a wagon, and the yes the squeaking on the lids is killing me also!!!! we shouldn't have to spray lubricant on the carpet once a week to stop the squeak. i have had other brands and this isnt going to turn into a bashing thread however i hope phenoix will tweak some of these "small" issues in the future if i am going to stay in one. I love the boat for the most part but the cosmetic stuff is behind the curve in my opinion.

I agree its a pain - that said a number of other brands I have been in squeak also. I did find a fix.
This tape is clear so you wont' see it and leaves no residue when/if you take it off. Has completely eliminated the lid squeaking for me.

I agree shouldn't have to, but my 2013 and 218 model both squeak, center box.

Amen....love the boat, but these issues are not acceptable. The trailer issue is a longer term goal. But the carpet and squeaky lids could be fixed easily by the factory.
Again, love my Phoenix. Not bashing. But they are no longer a small start up. Honeymoon is over.

Guys I had the same problem. But I saw someone in here weeks ago suggest taking a screw driver and tightening the screws on the latch on the inside. It did the trick and haven’t had any other problems from in since then.

Just get something like this and put it under the four corners of the lids. You have to use something like this on boats with fiberglass lids because there is no carpet to keep them from creaking. There is a more heavy duty version of those felt tabs, but I cannot remember the brand.
