Just moved to Kentucky, how's the fishing on Rough River Lake?

Just moved to Kentucky yesterday and it seems like the closest lake to me is Rough River Lake so I plan on going fishing for bass or hybrid stripe bass this weekend and was wondering how the fishing is on the lake. Anyone been to Rough lately?

Should be a pretty good bite for you. Fish are finishing up spawn and are postspawn. Topwaters and a big worm should get you some action.

Welcome to KY. If your close to Rough then you will be close to Nolin and not that far from Barren or Green. Those 4 lakes are good choices to have within a decent drive. I have never been on Rough but I have been on the other 3 lakes I mentioned.

Thanks guys! I went today and caught 1 hybrid and around 12 bass, biggest bass probably only a little over 2 lbs. I went thinking that I wasn't going to catch anything but did better than I thought, definitely going again soon.

You definitely need to check out Barren sometime. I've only been a handful of times, but each time was great.

I also hear about the night bite this time of year on Barren for hybrids, using topwater. Don't know the details of how to do it, but man it sure sounds fun!
