    Recommend a rod

Looking for a rod to throw 6” hollow bellies and magdrafts on. Would be nice if it was versatile as well. I currently use megabass, Loomis, and shimano Rods so would like to keep it in those lines.

Megabass Black Jungle F6.5-74XBJ Power Versatile is the rod I’ve been using for these exact techniques, and I’ve been very happy with it.

Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch or DSR depending on weight of lure. Both excel at it. I also use the Flipping Special on some of them. The Leviathan will do fine with the larger ones if you throw anything that heavy.

I would think the DSR is too light for a 6 inch hollow belly?

I know its not a high end MB rod but this is what I use for the majority of my bigger swimbaits and I love it!! The rod does many many techniques very well.

I've been using my XX Tour Versatile of late for 5"-6" hollow bellies. No issues bombing them out there or getting a good hookset from a long distance. Never thrown a Magdraft but at 1 1/4 oz for the 6" one, I'd probably use my XX Perfect Pitch.....if you could get me to take the frog off it.....

As I noted its dependent on the weight of the bait/jighead etc but it handles it VERY well if you stay withing the rod rating.

Not for a 5 or 6" Magdraft its not. Been throwing Magdrafts on it for a few years.

i trust a lot of guys on here, Mr.Perry when dealing with megabass is the man. If he speaks it I believe it. Obviously from the pics he posted in the lounge it worked for him. I have it rigged now and plan on chunking it today in the neighborhood pond.
