One of my fishing buddies has a Ox66 200hp like mine. There is a noise that we have not been able to identify. Occasionally, it will make a squealing noise. It almost sounds metallic. You would think that it has something to do with metal hitting, but when he revs the motor the frequency of the squeal does not change. If it was related to something moving on the motor, you would think that it would get faster when the motor revs. Any ideas on what to check? This one has me baffled.
My ox66 does the same thing, it’s coming from the drive shaft. You can shoot some fluid film or wd40 down the shaft that I circled in yellow on the pic. You can see it from both sides, the pic is from the port side. Maybe this will help it.
