    Old Classic 50

    Ok guys I've been trying to do some research and not finding exactly what I'm looking for. I have a classic 50 45 hp on my little tin boat and the lower is shot, metal shavings on the magnet.I know I can have it rebuilt but I was wondering if one of the old Mercury 500 50hp lowers would work? TIA

    should work just fine ,watch for rusted drive shft on older ones they get water in um quickly
