    Champion 214SX

    Hello All,

I am new to the forums and looking to purchase a 2009 214SX. Does anyone have a view on this boat? Were these hulls 100% composite? Any Wood? Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks, Jeff

Welcome to BBC and the Champion forum. a 2009 214SX should be wood free ... by definition, glass encased wood is a composite. Also contrary to the video at the link below, 2009 is a Champion, not Stratos.

Great, thank you. From what I read, most boats past the 2000-2003 period should be wood free. Is that correct?

    Welcome....

Although wood-free is not necessarily trouble free...the "all composites" were from 2003 on....
Properly built and cared for, any wood encapsulated glass will be fine!!!

There were two of these models for sale here over the fall/winter. I was looking real hard at them, and needed some therapy to not jump. The blue one with the 300HP Yammi really had me drooling... From what I've heard, these are probably one the best fish and skis built. Does both "fish" and "ski" pretty well.
