    Zx190 questions

A couple of questions for those who own this boat. Can anyone tell me how big the rod lockers are? Also what is the max amount of rods I can fit in there? Also is anyone running dual talons on theirs? If so how much speed loss have u seen? Thanks in advance

I had a 2014 TZX190 which is the same as the current ZX190. To answer your questions I had no problem with 7ft 6in rods. As for the number of rods they held I did not have rod tubes. I hate them. I had 16 rods with room to spare. I had a 175hp SHO and had 2-10ft talons. I lost 2mph. But I felt the speed loss was well worth having the talons.

I suggest taking out the rod tubes. I did and can get around 20 rods in mine. I have an older TZX-190 but it is basically the same layout. Also be sure to use rod socks and you will have no problems getting rods in and out. Can't help with the other question. The 190 is a great stable fishing platform for a guy on a budget

Mine was just a few screws holding the rod tubes in. Once they were out it all just pulled right out. Makes tons more room. I have a 7'9" flipping stick and an 8' deep cranking rod that now fits no problem.

Seems like all the new 190's come with the 150 SHO, they stopped putting the 175 on them. You will see upper 50's with gas, tackle, 2 people depending on how much stuff you like to carry in the boat.

Agreed... Not sure why they don't put the 175sho on them anymore. My TZX 190 with the 175sho was a low 60's boat with 2 talons and 2 people.

According to Skeeter's site, they're still rated for 175, so I would assume you could get one with a 175 on it.

I took the tubes out of my zx190 nad have around 13 rods with plenty more room. My longest rods are 7'9" and they fit fine. I run low 60's with one PP.

Does anyone have a ultrex on theirs? If so does your factory cover fit or did it need modification?

If want pictures of what mine looks like send me a PM with your text number or email. I'll be glad to let you see what mine looks like. I originally had the MG stock motor but it seems the 48" 80lb Ultrex allows the cover to fit, but like I said, it's tight
