    charger strapped on battery

So I needed a new charger for my cranking battery so bought a one bank MK on board charger. Didn't have much accesible room on tin rig, so loosened strap on battery put the charger put the strap back on an tightened it and it's not going anywhere nor do I go fast enough to have it bouncing all over. That seem ok. Problems potentially?

Heat from charger applied to the battery and risk of acid on the charger would concern me.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.

Same thing I was thinking. Those chargers get hot plus the gases from the battery could go in the charger.

If battery is not sealed type the gasses during charging could compromise the nearby chargers' exposed metal electrical components

And wood is a combustible material.

Poor design. Batteries have a relatively soft case material, eventually the metal frame from the charger will eat into it from vibration.

I would at least put the battery in a battery box and mount the charger on the outside of the box. The air gap between the plastic box and battey should dissipate any heat from the charger.

Can you mount it to the underside of the compartment lid? I have a NOCO single bank charger that is small and doesn't weigh that much.

Why not put alligator clips on end of leads and then use it as a "portable" unit....

I guess I 'll just take time and find a place to mount. Thanks for advice.
