Anybody gone from a bigger boat to a 919

I sold my 921 about a month ago and have been looking at a particular 919. Honestly, im scared the loss of size and front deck space will leave me disappointed. Has anybody made the switch and how did it go for you? Losing 19" on the front deck just seems like a whole lot. Not too concerned about the ride and ability to handle big water as i mostly just fish smaller lakes. Hopefully ill get to crawl around a 919 this afternoon and thatll help make my mind up. We do fish 2 off the front deck quite a bit. Its a 2017 with ultrex, poles, and the graphs i want is why its so hard to walk away from

You're the only one that can answer your question. See if you can set up a test fish. Get your rods and go fishing! Personally, the 919 is the best fit for me and the way I like to fish. If you're an offshore guy, it might be to much of an adjustment. If you like ducking behind docks, the 919 is hard to beat!!

    Good luck in your choice!

Can't speak for a 919, but 10+ years ago I went from a Ranger 520 (20' 8") to a Skeeter ZX200 (19'5"). Worked great for the smaller bodies of water that I spent the majority of my time on in West Michigan and the ZX200 was still a great boat when I moved to Florida and fished Okeechobee regularly. One nice benefit of going to the ZX200 was I forced myself to reduce the numbers of rods and reels carried and thinned out my tackle selection... Ending up catching more fish and winning a lot more Ts by simplifying my selection.

You don't really have to thin the selection out, in the 919.

I was running a 921 and my cousin had a 919. We set them up side by side and it was insane how much bigger the 921 was. Sitting side by side the 919 bow tip was where the pedistals seat would go on the 921. I went back down to the 721 and the 721 alone felt tiny after running the 921 for awhile. Took a couple weeks to get used to the 721 again but now it’s been almost 2 years and I have forgot about the size difference. So if you do downsize to the 919 at first you will be in shock I’m sure. Then after awhile you will probably get used to it. They both do the same thing as far as normal fishing. It’s just massive waves you will miss the 921.

I think the 919 and 921 are the same width up front at 68 inches across the front seat pedestal.

I love my 919. We fish two guys on the front deck all the time, and I never feel cramped. I can’t imagine needing a bigger boat... well, I guess if I fished the Great Lakes or similar giant waters I would get a 921.

I crawled around in one today, i could certainly feel how much smaller the deck felt than even my partners fx20. The width wasnt an issue, just the length amd the fact that rods hang out nearly into the passengers lap when stowed on the port side. I honestly think it would work for me, gonna sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow
