    Shelbyville

How is Shelbyville fishing right now? We have a club tournament there in a few weeks and I am trying to decided if its worth the 3 hour drive.

Fished there Saturday (5/12). We only had 3 keepers for a little over 6 lbs, but we dumped a few that would have helped a bunch. It took 14 lbs to win. We caught our fish on secondary points with laydowns. Water temps were 69-70 on the main lake and 71-72 in the creeks.

Fished a club tourney on 4/29. There were 23 of us, and only 5 guys brought fish to the scales. Only 1 had more than 1 fish. It was brutal.

I am thinking of going up there this weekend and staying north away from the memorial day crowds. Seemed like the last time I went there several years ago the farther north I went the less people I saw.

Have the lakemaster maps and have been looking at it to see where I may want to launch from. Advice on that?

    Thank you sir!!

Besides the river channel sides where there are some shallow areas, are there any major lake hazards up there that I should be cautious of? I dont believe I went that far the last time I was there.

This time of year is why I can appreciate putting up with having a 25hp. Although I’d still love to have a big glass rig to hit some big water BFLs.....

Caught a few crappie unintentionally lol. But that’s normal for there. Caught several white bass and one keeper largie.

Boat traffic was high as expected. New boat handled it very well. Need to get back there in the fall.
