Try a bigger bait. I'll catch the 2-3 lbers on 10 in worms and carolina rigs. Then dial in with a big crankbait, big swimbait or big football jig.

All good info. So do you the bigger fish in the schools with the smaller ones regularly or just occasionally? Will they position together or tend to seperate?

It has been my experience that the bigger fish will hit first in a school. If I pull up and catch small fish, I move on.

I will also tell you this 1973, if you are fishing Loudon, big fish are tough to come by right now.
