    MPH drop with swap?

I just swapped out a 96 150Fast Strike for a 2005 Evinrude 150HO on a Stratos 219F. I am using the same 22p raker and I have lost a lot of mph. The HO is topping out at 5400-5500 just about the same as the Fast Strike. Hole shot is much better with the HO but I have gone from 60mph light load to about 54-55 (gps)
Both engines have a final drive of 1:86 so why the loss of speed?

When I swapped motors, (Both Evinrude 150 loopers) I lost a similar amount. I changed props to a no-name custom prop, and moved up a hole, and ended up at the same place, which seemed strange, but it worked.

Sounds like a different prop might suit that motor better?
How about your engine height? Might try going up a touch, and see if it helps.

Hope you figure it out. That would be frustrating to upgrade motors and get less speed.
