    SmartCraft ApplicaTION on a 1999 Optimax 135

    Hello,

    I have a 1999 Optimax 135 S/N OT146641. I just installed a new mercmonitor gauge on a 4S 90 HP, I like it a lot, and thinking about the same for my Optimax 135. From everything I've been reading, I thought Mercury introduced the smartcraft line of gauges after the year 2000. However, my mercury owner manual for this 1999 motor shows having a smartcraft gauge as an option. I haven't looked hard, but I really only see a single 8 pin connector on the motor available, but I've been told the smartcraft gauges use only a 10 pin connector. So my question is, will the newer version smartcraft gauges work with this motor?

    This engine is not Smartcraft Compatible.
