Everybody likes thinking what they have is the best when they are making this kind of investment ..... It's kind of a strange human nature thing that sometimes prevents an objective view. Same as the Ford Chevy thing.

I’ve seen them all and used them all over the years. Flashers, Lowrance X-16 paper graphs, HB 3D units, first HB 997 SI units to current production units from HB and Lowrance. Fact is, right now no one brand is better than the other. Like Bob B said “Ford Chevy thing”.

Hello from France, just a little screenshot to show that humminbird is not the worst choice!

    here a submarine:

    1) rudder
    2)propeller shaft
    3)booth
    4)gun

The Prométhée is a French submarine of the class 1 500 tons launched in 1930 in Cherbourg. On July 7, 1932, while sailing on the surface during his tests, the submarine suddenly sank off Cape Lévi (English Channel) for no apparent reason, resulting in the death of 62 of his 69 crewmen and causing a strong emotion in France. The wreck is located the next day but rescue and bailout attempts are unsuccessful. Survivors' testimonies have shown that the sinking is likely due to a sudden opening of the diving purges.

I agree that all brands product a superior image than in years past, and I really like viewing images from all brands. Each brand does have it's strong points. That being said I've not seen any other brand unit produce a clearer, more detail image than a Humminbird Mega Side Image unit. It has helped me find and catch more fish. It's more than just a pretty picture.
