    Question about the 18 trx

First off I owned a 2005 Triton TR186 from 2009 to 2015 and I really enjoyed the boat but the one thing I absolutely hated was the big center storage locker had so much storage but the lid was so small and you had to literally had to fish it out when going threw tackle. Now that I will be looking to buy a new boat soon I was looking at the 189TRX and the 18 TRX it looks like from what I can tell is that triton made that center compartment lid quiet a bit bigger so anglers are able to get there tackle easier. If I'm wrong please let me know. If so props to triton. I'm leaning more on getting a 18 because its rated for a 200hp verses the 189 TRX thats rated for a 150hp and is this the only difference in the 2 models? If anyone is running a 18 TRX with a 200hp what speeds are you getting tournament loaded? Also I see the 18 TRX selling for around $35k and I was curious how long can I get one finance for?

    Thanks in Advance,
    Mike

Main difference between the 2 is HP raiting. I think that 18 TRX comes with a better standard trailer and a few more bells and whistles. Yes the center storage opening is larger and the store box is massive. I wish Triton had dividers for it. As for financing with good credit you should be able to get a 15 year loan. My buddy has an 18trx with a 150 xs and gets 57.5mph.

I have the 18TRX with a 200 G2 and it will do 70MPH with just me and a full load. Love the boat it fishes larger than my old TR20.

I have a 189 and the lid is as big as the compartment. Wish I had the piston to hold it open. 150 pro XS and it will run 57.

The 18TRX and 189TRX are the same boat with just different equipment, hot foot, jackplate, etc. It actually rates for 217 hp. It will run in the high 60's closer to 70mph.

The center locker and old electronic control push buttons are the only complaints I have with my 2015 18TRX. 2016 and newer don't have those issues. Mine is VERY heavy loaded with TMJ (Too Much Junk, going to fix that soon) and runs mid 60's.
