Looking to buy some new rods

Thought I would throw this out there for some thoughts. I’ve been looking to replace my old Loomis spinning and casting rods now but can’t decide what brand I should change to. Haven’t heard any real good about the Loomis E6x rods. I did buy a Cashion casting rod, it’s ok, not in love with the handle though still prefer a cork handle. Also not looking to drop 4 or 5 hundred on a rod anymore, looking for a rod in the $175 to $250 price range. Was looking at megabass but don’t know much about them. There’s just so many brands out there now, have to narrow it down some.

ALX and don’t look back! The Zolo line can be had in the 200 range and when you get them you will question why you ever paid almost 3 times that much for another rod.

St. Croix hands down. If you’re looking to stay around 200, the Avid X rods are amazing, but if you bump up to the 250 mark you get the legend tournament. The newer version has a lot better handle compared to the old.

I have my fair share of high end loomis but it's hard to beat the Kistler Helium3 and klx in the $200-280 price range. Seems there is always a 20% off sale.

Why not stick with Loomis? Can't really go wrong with an IMX.

Seriously look at the ALX Zolo models. They have the same performance as Loomis light crisp actions , spit cork handles made in SC and if you have specific questions you can call Alex directly.

If you want actual Gary Loomis quality give Kistler Rods a look. I have been using them since 2013 and switched completely over to them in 2016. Blanks are made in Texas by North Fork Composites...Gary Loomis' company. The rods are then hand built in Texas and they have a ton of choices that will cover just about any fishing situation.

Yep. Kistlers are really nice. The helium 3's are super sensitive and light.

Consider Dobyns as well as the others. Quality and the warranty is great.

I would look at Kistlers for bottom contact and Dobyns for reaction baits
you will need to buy the helium’s if your after a x-fast tip
and the champions are a bargain, great actions, craftsmanship and warranty
ive tried the NRX’s and kept the Kistlers over them, the ALX felt good
it was a matter of the craftsmanship and grade of cork that turned me
    off.
my advices is don’t limited yourself to one brand

ALX Zolo without a doubt. Hammer makes a good rod too. Both are American made.

Kistler H3 on sale currently and you could be in your price range - especially for bottom contact I would go with them over anything at that price point.
Where are the BIG ones? When are we going?
