25 year old boats don’t know but Craig’s is a 96-97 495 and we have crawled through it and nothing but wood and glass even the stringers are made of 2 x4 and glass as far up as I can see in to the hull.
Who knows, they may have tried it some year(s) after Craig’s boat was built. Sounds like Craig’s was not one of them.
Definitely my opinion....willing to put it to the test. Get any 20-20.5 boat and go for a ride at loz...where waves 2-5' are coming at you in all directions with no consideration for your back, body or boat manufacturer and then trow in 40'+ go fast boats flying around you 50'+ cruisers and a bunch of pontoons everywhere.
Needles to say,you don't always get to pick your lines of wave absorbing....lol
I'll bet every honest passenger will prefer the charger ride!
I know this is the Charger forum. But I will take a Champion 203 any day over any boat in that category in rough water and turning ability without bow hooking. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I hope you enjoy your boat. Peace.

so what year is your 203 sports1?
I have a 2002 Cobra 216. I like the 21 footers now that I have one. But to each his own. Peace.

still waiting on pictures TOC.
Champions and Chargers do run better in rough water than most.
When the waves are taller than my pontoon rails you know it’s going to be bad!
Thought that was everyday on the LOZ?
Mon -Thursday your pretty safe come Friday Saturday Sunday it’s a totally different lake ,a angry lake
