    Pan optics question

Just installed a 93sv w/panoptics on my Ultrex. I did the calibrating of the unit and it does not show that it is reading the same direction as the trolling motor is pointed. It is mounted on the shaft of the trolling motor about a foot up,from the head of the trolling motor.
is it too close to the motor or is there something else I’m missing ?
    thanks

Could be too close to the motor. I don’t think many guys have had this function work when mounting on the trolling motor shaft. Very big magnet.

on a side note just installed my ultrex also. AMAZING unit

Mine did the same but it was actually reading right. Just a heads up, I had my 74 mounted on the bow. At 68 mph the Garmin dislodged from the quick disconnect mount and flew by my head. It now sleeps with the fish.

I have mine on the shaft and don't have any issues.... but you probably want to duct tape the unit into the cradle.. mine have fallen out several times... caught the last one while driving down the lake.... currently I am using duct tape
