    Low voltage

1997 Mercury OG529725 Brand new battery. Volts on graph read 10.8 - 13.2 while running changes all the time . Volt reading drops at higher speeds. Last time out motor quit running about 60 mph like you turned the power off and would not start again until I reached a tech a couple hours later and she started right up for the tech. Help is greatly appreciated ! Thank you in advance..

Sounds like you have a bad battery even though it is new...... Take it back and let them check it.

Sounds like a bad connection at the battery to me.

Next step would be to get voltage readings at the battery and alternator, with a DVOM.

WELL THE ALTERNATOR WOULD NOT PRODUCE VOLTS UNTIL RPMS WERE BROUGHT UP IN THE BEGINNING OF TESTING AND ONCE THE ALTERNATOR GOT HOT IT STOPPED

Sounds like the auto tech found your problem......Get your alternator rebuilt by a automotive starter/alternator shop.
