    Speeds also depend on what lower unit is on each brand motor, and the year of the motors.

    Mercury will be faster on topend, yamaha quicker out of the hole

    Historically the mercs have been 1-2 mph faster but the sho is stronger everywhere else by a long shot. Now that people are learning to get the sho up high and spin them the top end gap has closed and if the trx hull likes a sho/bravo combo the sho will be quicker on top.

    I seen the new Merc 250 over the weekend at a dealer. It is an awesome looking motor!
