it just seems like that, because they sell 5000 to 1 over the other motors out there.

What’s really crazy is how many times they put new power heads on the same boat.Theres some that have had 4 power heads under warranty.I have a merc it’s been pretty good since 2003 but dang some of them just die at 15-20 hours.

most are operator head space. the dealer around here told me he had a customer that would blow his motor within six months, bought a new boat every two years. He started breaking them in for him no more issues.

Fuel rails that go out at 20 hours and compressors that melt those are two items that they have a major problem with. They fixed those with the 4 stroke

Hey, I'm way late to the party. Congrats on the new boat Jim. Didn't think I'd ever see you out of that 396.

Jim's boat is VERY nice. I had the pleasure of driving it a couple months ago and I was very impressed. The boat is solid as a rock. If you want to go fishing sometime, let me know!

20hr check is complete. Changed lower unit oil and new seal washers on the plug screws. Wet run to check water pressure. Other than that the motor was hooked to their computer to check fuel pressure and general condition. Only fault found was a low voltage and I expected that as my charger cord went bad and didn't charge overnight.

Kelly stated that if it were a 4 stroke an oil change would of been added.

I had a few warranty items fixed also, dropped an easy $500. Oh well, it's only money.
    I got nothin
