Basically it is too big for the area it's covering? When opened it hits the area it hinges to. I'm cleaning mine this weekend and will send you a pic for posting.
    I got nothin

No chit? Is it like the pic above?

This is my 2005 198, it has a small piece in front so it’s not a full piece. I wonder why they changed the design later on. (Disregard the dink, I was proving to my buddy that this color
of worm worked) Reggie, yours is a 2007 right?

Yep, and a 210. I would expect the 200 to maybe be the same. 198 would be like a 206? I don't know if I have a pic on my PC, but will look. Probably be the weekend before I have the boat here to get ready for the Ivie get together.

Didn't find a picture of my cooler lid, but it is like the red one above. I can see where grout's would stay open with the hinge line where it is.

I'm thinking I could do the same thing with a new lid. Basically cut it off 2" or so from the edge and put a hinge there. Recover it with carpet or tread materials. Thoughts?

That or some kind of double action hinge. What a pizz poor design and I can’t believe Charger didn’t improve on it.

so if charger was to bring the 496 into the new millennium which would you prefer ?

Possibly, but at 67 I'll let you young pups make your own decisions about that. The upgrade availability would be nice, especially the heated seats. Other than those and a camera what else is there?

I personally liked the 396. It's a 70mph boat, lots of storage and, in my opinion, a more stable fishing platform than the 496.

I guess, just don't care for it myself. I would rather have a 596 over the 797, but than again it is dated also.

They had better not update the 496; I can't afford to be trading again for awhile.

797 would be the boat, IF they in large the rear compartments, add some little compartments in the cockpit area. Maybe make two of the center compartments into one and add the basement compartment storage. Make no splash well, but add flat step areas for the porta Johns!!
