    Visiting Charleston May 14-18

Haven't been here in over 35 years. Staying downtown.

Need to know what to see, eat and do.

I would love to squeeze in for some fishing but only for 4-6 hours. Anyone guide for reds or anything that bites?

Drive up to Holly Hill and eat at Sweatman's BBQ. Thank me later!

Jeff, must have been a while since you have been to sweatmans! It sucks! I live here, and if you want BBQ drive to Walterboro and eat Dukes. You have Patriots point over at Mt. Pleasant, Myrtle Beach is a short drive up the road. The isle of Palms is a good beach to hang out at also you have Shem Creek over there so plenty of places to eat. I’d recommend Pages Okra and Grill, get the redneck egg rolls, they are some kind of good. If you want to hit up the Cooper River one day, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to take you.

It's not quite as good as it used to be, but we ate there in March and it was pretty good. Those other places you mentioned are too far for us to drive when we're at Santee. After a day on the water, we want to eat NOW! LOL! We did eat at Music Man is Moncks Corner, which was good. And, last March one of the guys picked up some take-out from Scotty's.

Jeff, I live right here in Moncks Corner on the Lake. Next time you are coming down give me a message. I’ll put you on some cooper river bass. I’m a river rat, I leave the lake to Fish the river. Music Man is alright, but Dukes in Walterboro is the ticket. I’ll drive you down there next you are in town. You are right, Sweatmans is no where near what they use to be.

I will be staying at wild dunes from 6/10 to 6/17. Any good places to take my son bank fishing?

While your downtown stop by after 5:30 to the city marina gas station, park at the shops next door. There's always trout and reds as long as there is moving water. You my get a few large fluke as well.I use 4-5' keitechs for everything.Move them as slow as possible and not get snagged.Give me a call (610)721-9904 if you have any questions.

You must eat at Hymans in downtown Charleston. It's always rated in the top 10 seafood restaurants in the southeast, and many times number 1. It is always packed.
