What is your assessment of the new transducer? I have one but haven't installed it yet. Boat is still in storage.

These were captured from my onix unit being fed by the solix . The bottom pic was captured from the solix. The 2d seems to run pretty hot. The bottom pic was around 4-5 on the sensitivity. When zooming in I cranked up the sensitivity till I got a good arch then turned up higher on the second one. I had a pretty good shot at another group of fish but was too busy trying to get them to hit and wasn't able to get a screen shot. On the zoomed in shots you can see some blue just above the bottom which I believe to be vegetation, I snagged it several times.

    Cool...

The second pic is zoomed in pretty tight (15'), so would expect the arches to be pretty humped up and a bit gritty - overall I think they look pretty good, and sure are better than the old school stuff IMO.

Is there a 2d only transducer that would be compatible with the helix 12 mega g2n that will produce images like this? I already have a splitter that I'm not using so I could link to the stock transducer. The stock transducer is pretty good but this looks better to me.

No. What you see is splitting a SI transducer with a SOLIX MEGA SI and SOLIX MEGA DI transducer using just the MEGA DI transducer 2D crystal.
Can't do that with a Helix.

So humminbird doesn't make any currently..... Is there a chance that they will ever make one for the Helix or is the Helix just not capable of supporting Low Q Chirp? What is the difference between the 2d chirp that comes on the Helix and the Low Q chirp that the solix is using?

Is there an aftermarket (airmar or ?) transducer that would provide a 2d transducer with Low Q chirp to the helix?

Sorry for all the questions..... just trying to learn and understand what options I have...... if I have any.

I'm pretty happy with my current set-up but man those images above sure do look nice and I'd really like to get as close to that as I possibly can.

Humminbird has basically the same transducer for the helix mega di units

..these come standard with the mega di units. There is a trolling motor version as well.

    Transom mount
