    Need a back-up lake suggestion

We are staying on Intermediate Thursday-Sunday. Saturday it looks like a cold front coming thru. However, a couple hours south gets us out of the front. Around Grand Rapids. Anyone got a good smallmouth lake they would suggest in that area if we abandon Intermediate and head south?

Going right down 131 you have Fife lake and Cadillac and mitchell...Both have smallmouth..Not sure how good the fishing will be this early but it should be getting close..
There is Nothing for smallmouth around GR unless you run to Muskegon or White lake that I know of..I guess you could hit the Grand River but you have to get a little closer to the big lake..
Some west siders may have better info..
You may want to think about running over to Charlevoix and fish the south arm...That tends to warm up and get going pretty quick...You can put in at Ironton..That isn't that far from Intermediate lake.
Smallmouth during the spawn don't seem to be as adversely effected by cold fronts as other times of the year...Once the water temps get right they are rocking and rolling....
