Low water pressure issue. How to flush?

First off Motor is a 2012 ProXS 225 HP. serial number 1B883693

This weekend I boticed my wayer pressure was much lowet than normal. Usually reads between 15 and 25 on plan but was between 7 and 15.

This is definitely a new development as I keep a close eye on my gauges. I also changed my water impeller about 2 months ago.

The lake I was on had alot of floating debris so I am thinking I may have sucked something up. I was looking for how to ise the flush attachment but couldnt find anything. Anyone able to help me out?

Flush port directions are in the OWNERS Manual, however I doubt it will help your debris issue because it is intended to flush saltwater, not lumber.

You'll likely have to drop the lower unit and manually clean the debris out.

I dropped the lower to examine the impeller and it appears to be on good shape. Didn't have anydebris inside or anything.

What else on the motor do I need to check? Thermostats? Poppet?

I would remove the shift shaft carrier and inspected the water intake passages.

I shined a light down there and can clearly see into the side intakes and I blew into the nose cone intakes and didn’t have and blockages.

poppet valve and thermostats can mess with water pressure if stuffed with debris.

I will go ahead and check them. I read the thread about removing the thermostats, but haven't found anything on the Poppet valve. Anyone know if a thread exists on that?

How are the water temps? Does it cycle as you'd expect? I just had to replace both thermostats because of low temps and low wp...

The temperature seemed to cycle as it should but would start to get warmer as the wp dropped when trimming out. I could run fine about 55 with wp kinda low (around 10) but any more throttle or trim it would start to claim towards 140.

Took the poppet off last night and it appeared to be in goo d shape. No tears or anything. Looking at it, it appears that the diaphragm doesn't actually open and close, but it's the plastic piece with the cross shape that seats inside the opening that opens. I wiped eveything off and put back together.

Removed the thermostats and the starboard side had some debris in there but didn't really seem to be blocking the stat from seating properly.

So I cleared them oit and put them in water on the stove and they opened up about 130. Hoping, the debris was the problem, but well see what she does this weekend.

That will definitely create some problems. I would follow the advice given from Joe and Savage. There could be more wood/debris under the carrier seal.

Is that the front part of the lower unit that houses the shifter part? It seems that would be a different passage than the water uses?

Carrier seal is under your water pump assembly.

No not the Drive Shaft carrier.. The Shift Shaft carrier needs removed, as well as the entire water pump, to inspect/clean all the passages.
