    Either you reverse solenoid isn't getting power (blue wire) or the solenoid is bad. Test from the 7 pin round to all the way to the solenoid until you find where it's losing power. Could be a bad adapter, pigtail or connection. Sometimes the tabs in the 7 pin round need to be adjusted to make a good connection after extended use or with a worn adapter.

    Mine is doing the same same on my 2014 GMC Sierra Danali .I have the 7 way round to 5 flat adapter and the blue wire is not getting any juice when the truck is in reverse but my backup lights on my truck are working fine!!! I checked all of my fuses. Everything looks good. ???

    Your truck backup lights are on a different circuit than the trailer. Look for a fuse labeled for trailer backup lights. Probably fuse 16 in the box under the hood.
