    How much?

    Speed do you gain approximately when going up a pitch size on a prop? Is it 1-2 mph is is their so many variables to really give a answer?

    You can get a ballpark figure by using the prop slip calculator. Enter your figures then just change prop pitches to see what difference it could be.

    It could even slow you down.....remember also that all props have a specific set-up for that prop's optimum performance!

    And if you can't turn the steeper prop to the same RPM you could lose speed due to reducing RPM out of the peak HP range.
