    Prop question

Basscat Sabre 150 std opti. New 23 tempest plus. Always hear that bass cats don't need much trim, however mine does. At 4 1/4 ptp I have to trim a bunch, probably at least 80 -90 percent to ge the bowlift needed to get the rpms to like 5700 (62.7) mph. If I raise the motor at all I get too much slip and loose all lift and speed. Would it make sense to add cup with hopes of being able to raise the motor a little and hopefully get the max rpms without having to run so deep? Fortrex on the bow with one helix 7 and a medium amount of rods and tackle.

I think adding cup will lower your RPM'S, which will be bad for that motor.
What is your WOT water pressure?

With water pressure at that reading you will never be able to raise the motor any higher.

I will double check it next time I am out. Sounds like I better leave well enough alone.

@Yandeltx - come up to 3 1/2” p2p and you’ll trim no more than 50% for the hull to lift and fly. You could have a bum Tempest and need to send it to Mark for a B&B. My ‘08 Sabre has a 150efi and turns a 24 Tempest that Mark has worked. My stock un-worked 23 Tempest has run 65 at 3.5 p2p on the limiter. The hull is weight critical in front of the console - carry weight in the back or it won’t lift. The fortrex is costing you 1-2mph over the original motorguide.
