    Swapping to Humminibird

Hey guy's, currently have all Lowrance on my Triton. Recently bought and Ultrex with the I Pilot link. Money is an issue. Looking at buying a bow mount Helix 10 now, adding 360 and a Helix 12 to the console later.

I am told this unit will do what I wish on the bow
    HELIX 10 CHIRP DI GPS G2N | HELIX 10 Series | 410110-1

Is this correct? What cables do I need if any?

    Thanks

Any Helix unit that is Ethernet capable will support the 360. It can be a Sonar model, DI model or SI model.

The Helix 10 CHIRP DI GPS G2N is certainly one of them.

The only thing you would need that does not come with the unit or 360 is the Ethernet adapter AS EC QDE.
You would also want to exchange the included transom DI transducer for the trolling motor puck version---either the XTM 9 DI 25 T or XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T. That is because they have extra internal shielding to help with possible RFI issues from the trolling motor.

The 25 T is tuned to the same 2D frequencies as the transom transducer.
The WIDE is tuned to 83/200 kHz 2D sonar=more coverage.

    Thanks so much Wayne.

Can I use the transducer that is in the Ultrex?

I think I know the answer. The unit has DI, therefore if I want to use DI I would need the puck. Correct? If so, is there another unit that has just standard 2D that would work with the Ultrex?

    DI unit, puck YES
CHIRP unit, can use the US2. Helix 10 CHIRP GPS G2N Need the Humminbird adapter MKR US2 8

You can also make the DI unit just a sonar model by changing the Connected Transducer setting--would be somewhat a waste of money for technology you won't be using.

Everything connects to the Ethernet switch. I-pilot link to the switch, graph to the switch, 360 to the switch.

None, the included 20' Ethernet cable connects between the 360 Ethernet cord and Ethernet Switch.

The US2 needs the Humminbird adapter MKR-US2-8

    Thanks Wayne.

I'm planning on adding a Helix 12 on the console later. Where would be the best place to mount the GPS sensor that came with the 360, bow or stern???

Since you cannot share heading separate from GPS with Helix units, the bow would be the best location.
