    180 ProV

    Any blazer boats here has a lower unit with 1.84:1 gear ratio on their Yamaha VMax 150 ? What are your thoughts ? Performance? Speed etc. I’m looking at a lower unit to buy with a bobs cone on it but it has 1.84:1 gear in it instead of 2:1

    You certainly don't need a coned lower unit on a 180...like putting an elevator in an outhouse.

    Below the pad no, but there is no reason to try and run above the pad on a 180 unless you are putting a lot more HP on it.
