    Great Day On The River

School teacher daughter and I hit the river Tuesday and it was beautiful. Water at 62 at launch and rose to 67 in the Chick and Mattawoman. The water was really nasty with visibility 6-12". We went to the back of the Chick looking for emerging grass and there it was near the restricted zone buoys in the back. You could feel it dragging lures. Within 30 minutes of arrival I bagged this beauty on a purple swim jig with a purple paddle tail worm on it dragging it over the top of the emerging grass. Sadly, that was it for the day after throwing everything but the kitchen sink to coax a bite. The other three boats near us were experiencing the same pain. After hauling water for two hours, we bugged to Grinders in the Mattawoman, but it was another dead zone. A day with my daughter was a winner though.
